I have a friend who used to look very chubby, almost like a football koala bear.
A cute koala bear
Right before high school ended, we lost contact and never thought it possible to meet again. In fact, we never spoke to each other anyway because we were very weird little kids back then.
All in a sudden, 10 years later, the now-almost-dead social network, Friendster, reconnected two strange little kids who never spoke to each other, but were vaguely aware of each other’s existence on this planet.
While on holiday recently, JG managed to meet up with this long lost friend. He no longer looked nor sounded like a football koala bear. Instead, he now resembles a Hong Kong movie star and talks with an awesome foreign accent. 10 years can make a lot of difference to any person.
So this newfound tour guide/ host decided to bring me to The Brasserie, located at the Crown Casino.
This is how the restaurant looks like during the day-time.
We could see the Crown Casino Fire Show right from where we sat. Dinner was accompanied by the occasional scary spontaneous combustions of great balls of fire which instantly reminded me of Armageddon. This is not a nice way of describing what I saw.
For starters, we ordered this dish of funny meat items with an equally funny and forgettable name that was served on a wooden platter. We also had this white two-cylindrically-domed thingie called “Jerusalem artichoke soufflé” that was served on a wavy-looking plate…
I ordered a dish with a complicated name, but was basically rabbit meat served in a well-presented manner where gravy was strategically drizzled all over the plate. To really show the unique “rabbitness” of the dish, the chef decorated the dish with nicely-cut baby carrots and polenta (the yellow-looking thingie in the picture below).
This rabbit thingie was not bad. But cutting the meat was like cutting through frozen whale blubber. Not that I know how frozen whale blubber feels like.
My friend also ordered something complicated, but was basically venison decorated nicely on a white dinner plate.
venison = the flesh of a deer or similar animal as used for food.
We were, and still are, horrifying meat-eaters, decreasing the existence of cute-looking animals on earth…
But the food was awesome yummy.

Here are some other pictures of how the little casino looks like during night-time:
Picture above: Drinking fountain (of course not). It's a fountain with water randomly jumping out from various holes.

It was nice catching up with an old friend whom I had never spoken to before when I was a little kid.
Let’s meet up again 10 years from now!
